TEENS ART + PAINTING | SUNDAY WORKSHOP AT THE S&C GALLERY is led by professional artist and master at her craft, Sossy. Between the gallery walls, home to captivating oil paint artworks and abundant space that inspires, Sossy shares the special techniques she has developed through years of experience in the oil paint medium. As Sossy’s works hang in prominent homes, galleries and spaces around the world, she returns to her Melbourne roots to share her artistry, techniques and expertise with beginners and creatives alike.
Through each session, you will connect with your inner artist as Sossy guides you to explore various art styles. You will learn the steps and techniques to develop a mesmerising painting, then get hands-on advice as Sossy guides you to develop your unique colour palette — mixing and blending your colours of choice.
Through Sossy’s instruction, your mind will be open to the possibilities that your inner artist can create, with the paintbrush as your tool and your creativity as the only limit. FAQs
How long does the Session run for?
The duration of this workshop is approximately 2 hours for the Full-Size Artwork and will take slightly less time for the Artwork mini.
What ages are these workshops suitable for?
These workshops are suited for family groups of children and adults ages 8+ and artist Sossy will ensure that each participant can sculpt an artwork that is comfortably within their abilities. Sunday evenings and School Holiday sessions are reserved for children and will be Family Friendly
Thursday nights will be exclusively for patrons that are 18+ years of age and visitors are welcome to BYOA their favorite wine or cider with glassware to be supplied by the Gallery
What is the difference between the Artwork mini and Artwork Full-Size?
The Artwork mini will be sculpted on a smaller canvas , measuring at 30:50 cm and will be quicker to craft than her big brother the Artwork Full-Size which will measure at 50:70 cm. Our recommendation is to choose the size that will work better in the interior you are crafting this artwork for! Both artworks will look beautiful when finished and professionally framed.
Can I share a canvas with my friend / partner?
This can certainly be arranged and sharing an artwork is actually a wickedly fun way to hang out together. Reach out to us in advance and we can upgrade your shared canvas to a larger size that you guys can display in your shared space and enjoy as a mega-size artwork!
Do I need prior expertise or experience?
No, prior skill and experience is not required. This workshops cater towards all abilities.
Are Alcoholic Sips Allowed?
You are welcome to bring your favorite bottle of wine as a BYOA and glassware will be provided by the Studio for the Thursday night sessions
What do we need to bring with us to the Workshop?
Your creativity and inspired mind. We will supply everything your group will need to create your own masterpiece. BYO sips and nibbles are welcome
Are there bathroom / Washroom facilities on site?
Yes, we have a privately operated toilet and sinks in the back of thew studio for washing up.
